Short Film Project

Have you heard the one about two 70-year-old men riding their motorcycles past the arctic circle on one of the world’s most remote highways?

Neither had I.

So when my dad and my uncle (twin brothers) were doing this, I knew a film was needed to chronicle their adventure.

I was bummed that I couldn’t go with them. But my dad is a photographer and got me started on my creative endeavors. So this time around I taught him. We did a crash course in videography. And off he went with my cameras. What could go wrong?

The result is a wonderful short film ‘Head Up, Throttle On’.

My goals for the project were simple, but hard:

  1. As a busy dad, with a job, and a side hustle, to combine film making with family memory making.
  2. To learn how the film festival circuits work, and be accepted into at least one film festival.

How did it go? A great success, I’d say.

  1. ✅ My family has a treasured heirloom.
  2. ✅ Bonus, the film was accepted a six film festivals! 24% of all the festivals I entered.
